why do we cling to an idealized notion of ourselves which only exists in the work that we more than likely despise. is the whole of ethics a conviction for moderation and henceforth mediocrity. why do we deny ourselves pleasures only to promise ourselves a "better future" for someone else. is the whole of virtue a forbiddance of frivolous or insubordinate behavior. who governs hisself if he does not subject himself to god. surely he who beholds his own righteousness has lost that very thing.

stop trying to be anything besides what you are if you can figure out what that is
