this past thursday, while talking to my parents about my layoff (what am i gonna do about my apartment??) the both of them –– separately and without being in kahoots –– advised me to simply move out and stop paying rent and give no notice to my leasing office and damn the man!! right.

typically when i ask for advice, i already have devised a plan in my head that is so convoluted that no one could possibly come up with the same one.

i keep this plan to myself when asking, and hope that the advisor tells me word-for-word the same plan, entirely by coincidence, thus validating my plan and allowing me to act on it.

when they don't (of course) and instead tell me what i could logically and practically do (or illegal and financially irresponsible, in the case of my parents) i kinda just do my og plan anyways.

so why ask? why not just do what i want the first time?

i don't know. i am working on it.
