ANCRASTINATION
A word for doing stuff

I’m so good at procrastinating If I want to make sure to not do something (Like, say, drink soda or smoke) I just tell myself I’ll do it after the thing im currently doing Or about to do And it automatically follows that I will not do that thing, possibly for the entire day. If I tell myself I’ll go to the post office after this next thing im doing, I’ll probably not make it to the post office that day, too.

There’s a tool to convert this energy, though— bc it feels like a leap to go from Having an effective way of not doing things To having an effective way of doing things— And the tool is language 😻

Where I want to play w this is the prefix “an-“ or “ana-“ in “anachronistic.” I think we can build “ancrastination” from “procrastination” to mean putting behind you instead of pushing off. It’s the same as doing something right now, but with the immediacy of the thing already being done or behind you as soon as you say it. Ancrastination is a “go” word.

Helps build a structure/shape for the practice of doing things when they come to you. Now or never with pretty much everything, yadda yadda
