Imagining dental work when the lights go out

Had some work done on my choppers today - a crown on a molar - with plenty of anesthetic administered via a fearsome looking but not too painful needle. Bright lights, abundant clean water, and a drill and a mill powered by electricity helped make for a successful procedure. But as I was lying back with the provided sunglasses on and my mouth wide open, my mind went to Ukraine where at any minute in Lviv, Kyiv, Odessa or Kharkiv, the power could go out, leaving the patient in the dark with half drilled teeth. And the dentist and his/her assistant too. Reality is this could happen almost anywhere, and that many places on the planet the only thing to do with a f'd up tooth is to yank it out. Appreciation for the easy parts of our lives rides along with anxiety or outright fear over how fragile all of this is.
