still crying cathartic tears, I stepped out of the theater tonight knowing instantly this was my favorite film of 2025 (I’m still catching up); an incredibly moving experience and one of the best films about grief I’ve seen, a period piece that feels organic and present; it’s less about a specific death, and more about the death of spirit in children that happens every day as well as processing grief through art
