POST-APOCALYPTIC WORKSHOP
Inspiration: “ The Parable of the sower” by Octavia Butler
Plot: Ovtavia Butler’s Tenth novel, “ The Parable of the Sower", which was published in 1993, opens in Los Angeles in 2024. Global warming has brought drought and rising seawater. The middle class and working poor live in gated neighborhoods, where they fend off the intruders with guns and walls. Fresh water is scarce, as valuable as money. Pharmaceutical companies have created “ smart drugs,” which boost mental performance, and “pyro,” a pill that gives those who take it sexual pleasure from arson. Fires are common. Police services are expensive, though few people trust the police. Public schools are being privatized, as are whole towns. In this atmosphere, a presidential candidates are named Christopher Donner is elected based on his promises to dismantle government programs and bring back jobs
About the Author: Octavia Butler( 1946-2006) Was a pioneering writer of science fiction and one of the founders of Afrofuturism, "a wide-ranging social, political, and artistic movement that dares to imagine a world where African-descended peoples and their cultures play a central role in the creation of the world.”

As the year comes to a close, WW3
the spiritual warfare happening right underneath everyone’s nose
a battle between light and dark.
We interpret incorrectly what makes an individual qualified
to lead a world who’s at war with themselves.
Activists rise.
Leaders inspired.
It is now 2026.
2 + 2 + 6 = ten.
The number which represents completion,
ending of war manifested.
A colorful, peaceful world
a heaven to exist.
The philosophy is:
everything is everything.
To challenge everything,
only accepting everything
that includes everyone
to be valued, respected, and true.
Where I honor the light in self.
Where I honor the light in you.
Move past the times of division,
where human rights unites the voices,
growing those who struggle
to live as one.
