Francis Alÿs Time Lapse, 1998-2001 Gelatin silver and chromogenic prints with applied ink MOMA, Floor 2 Over the span of 12 hours, from dawn to dusk, Alÿs recorded the progression of a shadow cast by a flagpole in Mexico City's Plaza de la Constitución. The resulting images capture patterns of movement, as passersby gravitate toward the shadow to seek relief from the hot sun. visited on january 16, 3:01-3:07 pm stepped away& saw how the flagpole is recasted as a sundial. situational sculpture!
