hi yall, I am writing this for the very first time from the new in-app writing feature we’ve built for River. it’s taken quite a while to make it because it involved learning some new coding languages we havent used before. anyways…

we are hosting a fun version of writing club tonight with the intention of giving away river merch and showing off this new way to write. it’s seeming like both things may not happen because the merch may be stuck in Canada and the app is stuck in the review process. but the show still goes on!!

the past few weeks have been a rlly intersting period of time for the team. while we are all extremely proud of where we’ve gotten (now 28 months into the project), we are also more aware than ever of how far we have to go.

one of the original goals for river was its ability to serve as “a place to make sense of the world.” this goal has come back to mind recently as current events continue to cast doubt and uncertainty as to where we are all headed.

for me, any sense making journey begins with inwards exploration. the chances you’ll be able to derive meaning from a constantly changing world without ur own foundation of self is low.

to me that’s where river has the opportunity to provide something truly meaningful to others. a way to think, a place to be, and a community of in search of something similar.
