I spent April and May in solitude, traveling and wandering through countryside Japan. I finally visited many places that were on my list. Before this trip, I felt burnt out, my nervous system in a constant state of unrest, never quite able to switch off. Standing in places like Kait Plaza by Junya Ishigami, beyond the reach of emails, texts, or calls, I began to feel a sense of quiet and peace I hadn’t felt in a while. Moments like this remind me of why I chose to study Architecture.
